Therapeutic Massage for Women in Altamonte Springs
Slower, firmer work on the places you hold your tension.
What it is
Therapeutic massage, sometimes called deep tissue massage, uses slower strokes and firmer pressure to work into the deeper layers of muscle. It’s focused: we decide together where you need attention most, usually the neck, shoulders, low back or hips, and spend the time there.
Who it’s for
- Women who sit at a desk or a steering wheel for most of the day
- Anyone on their feet all day, or carrying children or heavy bags
- Runners, lifters and anyone who trains and wants help recovering
- Anyone whose shoulders live up around their ears
What a session feels like
It starts the same way every session does: you’re covered by a sheet and blanket, and I uncover only the area I’m working on. I begin with slower, warming strokes, then work gradually deeper. When I find a tight spot, I hold steady pressure and let it soften rather than forcing it.
Firm doesn’t have to mean painful. Good pressure is the kind you can breathe through. If you find yourself bracing or holding your breath, tell me and I’ll ease off. Some women feel a little tender afterward, a bit like after a workout, and that usually passes within a day or so.
Pressure
Medium to firm, and always adjustable. You set the limit and you can change it any time. If you’d rather keep it gentle, relaxation massage is a softer choice.
What to tell me beforehand
- Injuries, surgeries, or areas that are sore or sensitive
- Medications, especially blood thinners, and any medical conditions
- Whether you are pregnant
- The one or two areas you most want help with
Massage may help ease muscle tension and support recovery, but it isn’t a substitute for medical care. If something needs a doctor’s attention, I’ll tell you.
A few quick questions
Will therapeutic massage hurt?
It shouldn’t. You may feel strong pressure in tight spots, but it should stay in the range you can breathe through. Tell me if it’s too much.
How is it different from relaxation massage?
The pace is slower and the pressure is firmer and more focused. Relaxation massage is broader and gentler.
Can I combine it with relaxation?
Yes. Many sessions start gently and go deeper on the areas you choose. Tell me what you’d like when you book.
